More diocese links for Pleroma Christian Supplies governance

Members of the Central Hawke’s Bay Charitable Trust Board (Pleroma Christian Supplies)

The board governing Pleroma Christian Supplies has seen an increase in its diocesan representation.

The Central Hawke’s Bay Charitable Trust Board that governs Pleroma has welcomed Mike Stopforth from the Diocese of Christchurch and Pauline Balm from the Diocese of Palmerston North. They join existing board members, including chair Dr Chris Duthie-Jung from the Archdiocese of Wellington, who says the wider diocesan representation will be pivotal for the future.

“We are very grateful for the support of the Catholic community all over Aotearoa NZ. Broadening the experience and reach of the board to now include three dioceses ensures that Pleroma continues to meet ministry needs all over the country,” Dr Duthie-Jung said.

Founded in 1978 by Shirley and Ian Duthie and guided for nearly half a century by the Duthie family, including the last nine years under daughter Malissa Webster, Pleroma has long served the Christian community throughout New Zealand.

As of June, that legacy continues under the stewardship of new manager Amy Heesterman of Waipukurau.

“It’s a true privilege to inherit such a deeply rooted mission,” said Ms Heesterman. “I look forward to building on Pleroma’s strong foundation and extending its service in fresh and faithful ways.”

Pleroma operates on a not-for-profit model. It has a commitment to ethical trading and sustainability.
