Master planning is complete for the Catholic Diocese of Auckland’s joint development involving Rosmini College, St Joseph’s Catholic School and St Joseph’s Church, and the first stages are about to begin.
A three-level administration and classroom block is to be built that will become the new heart of Rosmini College and the main arrival point. The prominent building will feature bold red anodised fins, reflecting the school’s colours and its Catholic heritage. Inside, there will be the main reception, a student wellness centre, 15 new classrooms (including a multi-purpose whānau room), a first-floor student courtyard and updated staff facilities.
A second large building will be split into two parts, connected by a three-storey covered atrium that creates a visual link to St Joseph’s Church in Takapuna. That building will house 19 classrooms, staff and resource areas, and ground-floor drama spaces that open onto covered external teaching areas. The central atrium will be an all-weather space for gathering and learning.
Construction is expected to begin late next year.
In response to a Facebook question about grounds, Rosmini College said that more fields will be created to the east of St Joseph’s School.
