Community Foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand recently launched the online survey, “Giving in Aotearoa New Zealand”, which closes on April 26.

“This research is a New Zealand first, looking to understand what drives generosity, and what gets in the way. It’s exploring how the diverse groups of people, who call this nation home, give – both their time and their money – what their motivations are for giving and whether there are any barriers that get in the way,” Community Foundations stated.

“Whether you donate, volunteer, give koha, support whānau or don’t currently give at all, your experience matters. By taking part, you’ll help build a clearer picture of generosity in Aotearoa New Zealand and help us strengthen support for communities in the years ahead.”

The findings will support Community Foundations, charities, community organisations and local leaders to better understand the current realities around giving and strengthen community resourcing and long-term impact.

The survey, designed by BERL, is for anyone over 15 years of age, and is anonymous. Participants can go into a draw to receive $1000 to gift to a charity of their choice.
