Joshua Catholic Men’s Fellowship will mark its 40th anniversary with a celebration weekend in Rotorua in mid-August.

The gathering will be at Keswick Christian Camp in Rotorua from August 14-16. Robert Falzon, leader of Australia’s MenAlive and author of The importance of a present dad, will be the keynote speaker.

Joshua national leader Owen Kowalewski said the celebration weekend is a fantastic milestone. He encouraged members to attend the event, saying registration could be done online and payment sorted out later.

Registration “will help the organisers with planning as we don’t know just how big the numbers will be. We encourage you to invite men who may be new to the parish and are looking for support and involvement in their faith journey. Joshua may be for them”.

In the first Joshua newsletter for 2026, Mr Kowalewski said “this year our Joshua men plan to celebrate our lives as a people chosen by God”.

“We have been given the gift of faith which we want to share with those around us. Our faith is not a private path to holiness, but rather a mission to build communities of faith service and communion,” Mr Kowalewski said.

“As a Church community, God is always calling us together and shaping us into the Body of Christ, according to his plan, not ours. God allows us to be broken and fragile and suffer greatly as we work through the good and bad times, the trials and challenges at every stage of life.

“Whether we are young or old, God is with us and will never abandon us.”
