Palmerston North Diocese is hosting a Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition, inspired by the life and witness of St Carlo Acutis, ahead of a relic of the saint arriving in Aotearoa New Zealand.

The exhibition shares stories and images of eucharistic miracles from around the world, gathered and presented by St Carlo Acutis – a young Italian layman whose deep love for the Eucharist shaped his short but influential life.

Through this exhibition, visitors are invited to deepen their understanding of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist and to renew their faith and devotion.

The exhibition forms part of the spiritual lead-up to the relic of St Carlo Acutis being at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Palmerston North from June 10-13, 2026, providing an opportunity for prayer, reflection and preparation.

The exhibition runs from April 23 to June 13 and will venture to New Plymouth, Stratford, Whanganui, Napier, Hastings and Palmerston North for several days each.

St Carlo Acutis, who was canonised last September, was an Italian teenager with a deep Catholic faith and a passion for spreading that faith using technology. Among his online projects was a website of eucharistic miracles, which he built before he died in 2006 at the age of 15 as a result of acute leukaemia.

He has been dubbed by many “the patron saint of the internet”.

The Mission of St Carlo Acutis will arrive in Wellington on June 6 and travel to several New Zealand dioceses before returning to Australia on June 24. Information on local events will be advertised through dioceses, parishes and schools.
